Weprovethateveryfinitesetofhomotheticcopiesofagivenconvexbodyintheplanecanbecoloredwithfourcolorssothatanypointcoveredbyatleasttwocopiesiscoveredbytwocopieswithdistinctcolors.ThisgeneralizesapreviousresultfromSmorodinsky(SIAMJ.Disc.Math.2007).Thenweshowthatforanyk2,everythree-dimensionalhypergraphcanbecoloredwith6(k−1)colorssothateveryhyperedgeecontainsmin{|e|,k}verticeswithmutuallydistinctcolors.ThisrefinesapreviousresultfromAloupisetal.(Disc.&Comp.Geom.2009).Ascorollaries,weimproveonpreviousresultsforconflict-freecoloring,k-strongconflict-freecoloring,andchoosability.P
